Our overall health encompasses every aspect of our life. Our mental, spiritual and physical health are the most precious assets we have! More important than time! Have you ever had a tooth, ear, back or other ache? A migraine perhaps? Bad pain could make you wish you had no time left on the planet! A minute is like a half hour and an hour is like four! No-one, on the other hand, has wished illness on themselves!
That's why I first started this blog. To share what I have learned and what I am still learning about mental, spiritual and physical health. Occasionally, I'll even discuss how the health of our personal relationships effect and affect our overall health.
Today lets discuss the word health to see what it really means and how we can begin to possess it (to the best of our ability) and enjoy health along with long life. According to Webster:
"health \ˈhelth also ˈheltth\ n
often attrib [ME helthe, fr. OE h+̄lth, fr. hāl] bef. 12c
1 a : the condition of being sound in body, mind, or spirit esp : freedom from physical disease or pain
b : the general condition of the body 〈in poor health〉 〈enjoys good health〉
2 a : flourishing condition : well-being 〈defending the health of the beloved oceans —Peter Wilkinson〉
b : general condition or state 〈poor economic health〉
3 : a toast to someone’s health or prosperity. "

The words for health are infrequently used in the Old Testament, and then always figuratively (e.g. Je. 30:17; 33:6; Ps. 42:11; Pr. 12:18)

In the New Testament there are many Greek words that allude to health but I like , "Acts 3:16, where holoklēria, ‘perfect health’ ". Wow, perfect health in body, soul, spirit and relationships.
This has to be the most important subject there is! Which would you rather have?

Health or Booze
Health or Coffee (there are more healthy alternatives)

So when thinking of what I would write about next I remembered the main purpose of this blog. Simply stated but with all the power of the Word of God (Jesus) backing it up, " Beloved, I pray that all may go well (prosperity) with you and that you may be in good health, as it goes well with your soul.
More tommorow.
